CAROL STREAM, Ill.—May 6, 2015—Tyndale House Publishers is pleased to announce that two Tyndale titles have been named winners of the 2015 Christian Book Awards®. These awards are given by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) to the titles representing the best Christian book and Bible releases of the year across the following categories: Non-Fiction, Fiction, Inspiration, Children’s, Bible Reference, Bibles, and New Author.

According to ECPA President/CEO Mark Kuyper, “The Christian Book Award® winners not only represent the best books in our industry, but in their variety they represent the transforming power of Christian content that impacts all of life.” He goes on to say, “Our industry continues to produce ‘Good Books that Feed the Soul’ for all ages, seasons, and interests.”

The awards were announced at the ECPA Awards Banquet, held in conjunction with the ECPA Leadership Summit hosted in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on May 5, 2015.

Tyndale award recipients include The Advocate, written by Randy Singer, in the Fiction category, and My Bible Animals Storybookwritten by Dandi Daley Mackall and illustrated by Heather Heyworth, in the Children’s category.

The Advocate is a work of historical fiction written by critically acclaimed, award-winning author and veteran trial attorney Randy Singer, providing the account of Theophilus, the man to whom Luke addressed the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts. Singer’s premise is that Theophilus was Paul’s court-appointed advocate to represent the apostle in front of Nero, probably the most despised ruler in the history of Rome. Theophilus was chosen because he had served in Judea as Pilate’s assessore, or law clerk, during the trial of Jesus.

Singer, renowned author of numerous legal thrillers, calls The Advocate “a book that I am more excited about than any other book I’ve ever written.” As a pastor, lawyer, and award-winning novelist, he feels that he “was born to write this book” and that all his other novels “have just been practice.”First of all, gambling is a manifestation of a person’s faith in Luck, Chance, and Providence. It is a form of self-sacrifice and is against the teachings of Scripture. Second, gambling situs sbobet is often addictive, and that is inconsistent with the life of a Christian. The Holy Spirit indwells a Christian’s heart and helps him remain self-restrained.

In My Bible Animals Storybook, award recipient in the Children’s category, bestselling children’s author Dandi Daley Mackall creates a fun and spiritually rich book for kids, all about God’s animals. This book provides a new way to present some of the best-loved Bible stories, highlighting an animal in each story and pointing to a deep spiritual truth. It also includes colorful and whimsical illustrations by Heather Heyworth.
