Through The Eyes of a Lion: The First Release from Levi Lusko Prepares Readers to Face Impossible Pain and Find Incredible Power
“On the night she went to heaven, I did for Lenya what a daddy should never have to do. I reached out and closed my little girl’s eyes. What I never expected was that God would use her to open mine.”
– Levi Lusko
On December 20, 2012, five-year-old Lenya Lusko went to heaven while in her parents arms after a massive, unexpected asthma attack. With a ferocious personality and hair that had been wild and mane-like since birth, they called her Lenya Lion. But a few days before Christmas, Levi and Jennie Lusko had to leave the hospital without their vibrant daughter.
“Part of the reason I wanted to write this book was so you could have my field notes as you navigate through the rugged and uncharged terrain that is Saturday,” says Lusko. “We’re in this together – the space between promise and fulfillment. Living with your heart set on heaven but your feet still on earth is not easy. The trouble with Saturday is that we have no clue when it will end. Jesus specifically told us that no one but his Father knows the hour or the date of his return, and none of us knows for certain when our day will come to die, so we have to just trust that Sunday is on the way.”
In October 2015, Levi Lusko and the worship team from Fresh Life Church will be speaking around the country as part of the Through the Eyes of a Lion Tour – encouraging people to live bravely.
Levi Lusko is the pastor of Fresh Life Church, a multi-site church in Montana, and the founder of Skull Church and the O2 Experience. He serves as host for Greg Laurie’s Harvest Crusades, and has worked with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as creative consultant. He and his wife Jennie have four daughters, Alivia, Daisy, Clover, and Lenya, who is in heaven.
