Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Team Kicks Off “Love of Reading” campaign, coinciding with World Book Night 2014
Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction initiated a celebration of the enduring power of story with its “Love of Reading” campaign, kicking off on Wednesday, April 23,World Book Night 2014. “We have followed the work of the World Book Night organization for a few years now and love how the event celebrates books and inspires readers—especially those who may have forgotten what it feels like to be immersed in a favorite novel,” said Katie Bond, Marketing Director for fiction at HarperCollins Christian Publishing. With dozens of authors from both the Thomas Nelson and Zondervan fiction rosters participating, authors and staff have collectively pledged to donate more than 1,200 hours over the next year in aiding literacy efforts across the nation, volunteering at schools, libraries, nonprofit organizations, and bookstores within their communities. On the evening of April 23, World Book Night, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan authors took to the streets, gifting free novels and posting social media updates about the event with the hashtag #TNZlovesreaders.
