Bloomington, MN – The Institute of Leadership and Mentorship (ILM) is proud to present the 2016 ILM Awards Ceremony on June 3rd at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota.
The ILM is dedicated to building a culture of honor and to recognizing distinguished leaders from around the world who are effectively changing their communities and the nation through their efforts. This year’s presenting guest of honor will be Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers from iChange Nations. Dr. Rivers will be personally presenting the awards to award recipients.
Among those who are being honored are Dr. Richard Hills, an innovative medical leader and founder of Institute of Orthopedics and Chiropractic; Dr. Edwin Bogonko, the first minority leader of the Twin Cities group of doctors; and Jeff Scislow, a prominent real estate leader and philanthropist. Also being honored is Dr. Justina Mutale from London, the 2012 African Woman of the Year. In attendance will be leaders from the Hmong Coalition and other successful community and business leaders from around the world. The event will include a graduation ceremony, presenting 15 young students from ILM’s Academy of Honor who have completed training in honor, character development, and leadership.
The event is being produced and hosted by Dr. Charles Karuku, President of the Institute of Leadership and Mentorship (ILM). Dr. Karuku is a successful businessman, experienced trainer, and communicator who holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Moi University in Kenya. He has a burning passion to develop leaders and build capacity in organizations. His simple philosophy is that leadership can be learned and leaders can be made. He believes in developing the valuable asset of human resource. Dr. Charles has traveled widely as a speaker for seminars and conferences on leadership development in over 21 nations across the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, Canada, and Africa.
