Bellmawr, N.J.—The Friends of Israel (FOI, www.foi.org) is planning a daylong “Prophecy Up Close” conference for next week in Calgary, Canada, where leaders and participants will focus on “Understanding the Word: Discerning the Times.”
The conference, set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at Brentview Baptist Church at 3512 Charleswood Drive NW in Calgary, Alberta, will explore the tough questions faced in an uncertain world, including, “Where is God in Israel’s battle to survive?” “Is the Middle East turmoil a prelude to the coming battle?,” “How should churches be treating Israel today?” and “How does God view Israel, America and the nations?”
“This conference is a wonderful opportunity to hear sound biblical teaching regarding Israel and its place in Bible prophecy,” said FOI Executive Director Jim Showers. “I am certain all who come will be blessed and will gain a greater knowledge of the absolute accuracy of God’s Word.”
The event will feature Steve Herzig, director of North American Ministries and Bible Teacher for The Friends of Israel, along with Showers. The cost to attend is $10 per person, which includes lunch. To register, call (800) 257-7843, ext. 144, or visit www.foi.org/prophecy.

The Friends of Israel was founded in 1938 by Christian leaders in response to the desperate needs of Jewish people afflicted by the raging torrents of Nazi hate during the Holocaust. Through this Christian ministry, funds were raised and aid was distributed to Jewish refugees in their darkest hours of need. Today, The Friends of Israel is an important evangelical Christian voice communicating biblical truth about Israel and the Messiah, while fostering solidarity with the Jewish people.
