Local Eagle Scout Project Works to Prevent Teen Suicide

ORANGE COUNTY, CA. — Recycling, preventing suicide, and community involvement: while seemingly diverse and distinct from each other, Madison Shuford addresses each of these in his upcoming Eagle Scout project. He created the endeavor to bring awareness to My Broken Palace, a Rancho Santa Margarita based non-profit that works to prevent teen suicide. Madison hails from Boy Scout Troop 700 in Aliso Viejo.

Madison is leading a team of volunteers who will reach out to 500 local families in the areas surrounding his school, Trabuco Hills High School. Through a can and bottle recycling drive, the team will raise awareness and provide information about My Broken Palace. The first two collection dates will be August 17 and September 14 from 8am to 10am at Solana Park in Rancho Santa Margarita.
