Superbook Legacy to Be Introduced to New Generation of Viewers

Lake Mary, FL—Charisma House Book Group, a part of Charisma Media, recently confirmed a strategic distribution partnership with the Emmy-nominated Superbook Bible series for children, produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).

The distribution agreement introduces the reanimated Superbook series to retail trade in the United States and Canada for the very first time. Brick-and-mortar and online retail stores will supply this impactful series on DVD to children who may otherwise never see it.

“We are excited about this new partnership with Charisma House Book Group. For over thirty years, Superbook’s mission has been to bring the stories of the Bible to the children of the world,” said Gordon Robertson, CEO of CBN and executive producer of the reimagined Superbook series. “This distribution agreement will allow us to honor the life-changing legacy of the original series and continue to introduce the new  Superbook to today’s generation of viewers.”

Tessie DeVore, executive vice president of Charisma House Book Group, says that today’s children are assaulted by increasing moral decline and are in dire need of solid biblical teaching.

“We are honored to be a new part of the Superbook legacy,” said DeVore. “It has played a major role in shaping generations with a biblical worldview from childhood. We endeavor to see today’s children influenced with the same spiritual truths.”

First created in 1981,the original children’s animated Bible series was part of an outreach to the nation of Japan. Over eight million people watched the series, aiding in its establishment as throughout the world. Upon international launch it was given its English name, Superbook. Each action-packed, animated episode teaches children timeless life lessons through the captivating, Bible-based adventures of two time-traveling children and their robot friend.

With a worldwide viewership of over five hundred million, the Superbook series has been translated into forty-three languages and broadcasted in over one hundred countries. Today CBN and a team of Emmy-winning artists and storytellers, whose credits include MulanThe Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast, are collaborating to completely reimagine the classic series using the latest 3-D CGI technology.
