(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) June 3, 2015-New Hope® Publishers is pleased to announce the signing of author Sherri Burgess. Her memoir, titled Bronner, is scheduled to release in the summer of 2016. Bronner is a testimony of faith in the wake of tremendous loss. Attempting to answer the “why” of pain and suffering in a biblical context, Burgess chronicles the journey to understanding that she and her husband Rick, of The Rick and Bubba Show, walked after the earthly death of their two-year-old son, Bronner.

Burgess will formally sign her publishing contract with New Hope Publishers in celebration of this partnership on June 9, 2015. New Hope invites the media to participate in a news conference on Tuesday, June 9, from 1–2 p.m. at the offices of New Hope Publishers at Woman’s Missionary Union® (WMU®), 100 Missionary Ridge, Birmingham, AL 35242.

The original manuscript has already been endorsed by influential Christian leaders such as Max Lucado, Jim Daly, Larry Taunton, Don Keith, and others:

“No one escapes life unscathed. Everyone faces tragedy. Rick and Sherri did. They did so with faith. We are wise to learn from their example. Their story inspires us to face our challenges by facing God first.”—Max Lucado, New York Times best-selling author

“‘Thank You, Lord, for trusting me with something so great that I would be asked to give up what You gave up—a son.’ These are the powerful words of Sherri Burgess in Bronner. To a Christian culture saturated with the notion that material and physical well-being are at the center of God’s will for our lives, such words are jarring. It just so happens that they also find resonance in Scripture.”—Larry Alex Taunton, author of The Grace Effect.

“We’re so honored to partner with Sherri Burgess to publish this amazing testimony of God’s faithfulness through the worst kind of pain. We’re humbled to help place this miraculous evidence of God’s goodness and grace into the hands of as many people as we possibly can.”—Maegan Roper, New Hope Publishers marketing director
