and new trends for authors and publishing
Orlando, FL – FrontGate Media founder and Chief Engagement Officer Scott A. Shuford will be a featured speaker at both the upcoming International Christian Visual Media (ICVM) Convention and the Author Boot Camp that kicks off the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS), both taking place in Orlando, FL.
ICVM is the leading non-profit group of international faith-based filmmakers, distributors, writers, actors and media leaders. Over the past 40 years, ICVM’s annual convention has proven to be a priceless asset for independent filmmakers for networking, support and education. This year’s event will be held June 24-27 at the Park Inn by Radisson in Kissimmee, Florida. Shuford will be speaking and taking questions on Friday, June 26 at 10:00am on “The Top 10 Faith-based Film Marketing Mistakes.”
Following ICVM, Shuford will be a featured speaker at the Author Bootcamp that opens the annual International Christian Retail Show. At ICRS, industry leaders and experts are slated to gather to discuss new trends in publishing and marketing. The publishing world is changing daily. Authors are finding they must be more involved in the marketing, promotion, and distribution of their own work. The Bootcamp’s Published Author Training Track offers insider information in using modern marketing tools, working cooperatively with Christian stores, book clubs and other booksellers, and getting new products noticed and sold.
The Published Author Training Track event takes place at the ICRS Convention at 9:00am on Sunday, June 28 at the Orange County Convention Center room W304AB in Orlando, FL. Shuford will be part of a presenting team assembled from a wide variety of fields, which promises to be rich resource for authors who seek a better understanding of publishing and marketing. Also on the panel are author consultant Suzanne Kuhn of Suzy Q, Larry Carpenter from Carpenter’s Son Publishing, marketing expert Fred St. Laurent of the Book Club Network and Book Fun Magazine, and Joni Baker of Buoyancy PR. Shuford will be discussing the value of paid advertising, audience targeting, and the future of value-added marketing.
“I love to get in the trenches, taking real questions from real people who are wrestling with their learning curve as they seek to grow and own their audience,” states Shuford. “FrontGate exists to serve each and every organization or individual by increasing their connection with the Christian audience.”
Shuford has been featured in The Daily Beast, ADWEEK, and other industry publications, and as a speaker for the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association, Christian Leadership Alliance, Visual Storytelling Network, Gospel Music Association, Christian Comedy Association, Christian Comic Arts Society, NAMM Shows, Christian Musician Summits, and other events.
