Slayton’s purpose in writing Be a Better Dad Today was to provide a guidebook to help fathers establish deeper, more meaningful relationships with their families. A businessman, diplomat, philanthropist, professor and father of four, Slayton says, First and foremost I’d like thank our Heavenly Father for anything this little book has accomplished. Our hope was not for sales or bestsellers or anything like that. Our prayer has always been that this book – and others like it – will help turn the hearts of dads everywhere back to their children and the hearts of children back to their dads (and moms). I would like to thank all my friends at Regal and all our great partners around the world who helped make this possible. I especially want to thank my great wife and our wonderful kids for putting up with me for 25 years. As our little guy says when I make a mistake (which is all too frequent still) “Dad, don’t you want to Be a Better Dad Today?”
