Grand Rapids, MI—Our Daily Bread Ministries is hosting their first writers’ conference called The A.C.C.E.S.S. Conference. This two-day event will bring Our Daily Bread and Our Daily Journey  writers from around the world for a time of renewal and growth. The conference will take place at Our Daily Bread Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Thursday, October 20, and Friday, October 21, 2016.

A.C.C.E.S.S. is an acronym that reflects the core values and emphases of this event: Adoration, Communication, Collaboration, Encouragement, Sharing, and Sharpening. Attendees will build unity in their diversity through individual relationships and networking. The conference will communicate editorial essentials as well as encouragement for the ministries’ work together, emphasizing expectations and sharing tools to produce strong content for readers across the globe.

“It’s our prayer that the time we spend together as authors and editors will provide for helpful training, relationship building, and spiritual refreshment. By meeting and growing together, we trust that the devotional articles we produce will be even more effective in encouraging readers to grow in their love for Christ and knowledge of the Scriptures,” said Tom Felten, Executive Editor for Our Daily Journey.

Each day will feature a time of worship through music and a time of prayer led by pastor and author James Banks. Pastor and author Marvin Williams will speak on the topic of adoration on Thursday, and author and speaker Elisa Morgan will speak on the topic of encouragement on Friday.  The schedule also includes panel discussions on diversity in writing, writing problems, a question and answer time on theological review, and breakouts for more in-depth training, as well as these joint sessions:

  • “Writing from the Heart” by Mart De Haan
  • “Connecting Illustrations from the Bible” by David McCasland
  • “Writers Are the First Editors” by Joyce Dinkins
  • “Fostering Creativity” by Sheridan Voysey
