November and October’s Christian bestsellers released

The ECPA bestsellers lists are back! After some time off while NPD BookScan moved its data to a new platform (no easy task), we are pleased to present the November Bestsellers published by ECPA members, based on POS data collected in October from more than 250 participating booksellers, both brick and mortar and online.

In the Top 50 bestsellers overall, the Top 2 are familiar. At #1 is Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis (Thomas Nelson), which continues to be in the Top 10 overall on a variety of national lists. Right behind is Gary Chapman’s The 5 Love Languages (Moody). Of the next 8 titles, 6 are new releases, showing the variety of books being published by ECPA members. They include a memoir, Racing to the Finish by Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Thomas Nelson); two Christian living titles by nationally known pastors, Overcomer by David Jeremiah (Thomas Nelson) and Next Level Thinking by Joel Osteen (FaithWords); an inspiring love story, Cole and Sav by Cole and Savannah LaBrant (Thomas Nelson); a lifestyle book on getting clutter out of your life, Cozy Minimalist Home (Zondervan); and a novel by one of America’s premiere fiction writers, When We Were Young by Karen Kingsbury (Howard Books).

Six other new releases populate the rest of the Top 50. These include new books from previous bestselling authors: Remembering God by Annie F. Downs (B&H Publishing) at #28, I Declare War by Levi Lusko (Thomas Nelson) at #35, Win From Within by John Gray (FaithWords), and It’s Okay Not to be Okay by Sheila Walsh (Baker Books) at #39.

The Top 25 Fiction bestsellers list features 10 new releases, led by Karen Kingsbury’s When We Were Young (Howard). At #3 in the category of historical fiction is Becoming Mrs. Lewis, a fascinating book by New York Times bestselling author Patti Callahan (Thomas Nelson) on the story of Joy Davidman, the wife of C.S. Lewis. Several new Christmas-themed titles populate this list, including Catching Christmas by Terri Blackstock (Thomas Nelson), A Vintage Christmas by Louisa May Alcott, Charles Dickens and others (Thomas Nelson), A Baxter Family Christmas by Karen Kingsbury (Howard), and An Amish Christmas Gift by Amy Clipston, Ruth Reid and others (Thomas Nelson). Lynn Austin, one of just five Christy Hall of Fame members, cracks the Top 25 with her new novel, Legacy of Mercy (Bethany House).

The Top 25 Juvenile bestsellers list is topped by two authors with recent Top 10 overall bestsellers. Love Does for Kids by Bob Goff (HCCP) is at #1, followed by Gift That I Can Give by Kathie Lee Gifford (HCCP).  Two new children’s books in the Top 25 are from the pen of prominent singer-songwriters. Who Sang the First Song by Ellie Holcomb (B&H Publishing) is at #5, while the board book Cow Said Neigh by Rory Feek (Thomas Nelson) sits at #11.

The Top 10 Bible Translations list remains remarkably consistent, with the NIV (Zondervan) at #1. In the Top 25 Bibles bestsellers list, there are 6 different Bible translations in the Top 10. The Top 25 Spanish Bibles reveals RVR09 Santa Biblia (Barbour Publishing) as the #1 bestseller. B&H Expanol has the most number of Spanish Bibles in the Top 25 with 13.

In the Top 50 Spanish bestselling books, Oracion de Rompimiento by Guillermo Maldanado (Whitaker House) is at #1. A dozen different publishers are represented on that list.
