In November of 2005, NRT welcomed Bill Lurwick to professionally produce and host a weekly PodCast that featured what was new in Christian music each week. In radio since 1989 and currently heard on KJIL in Dodge City, KS, Lurwick instantly gave NRT a voice and provided listeners an entertaining weekly show. The “New Music Update” quickly evolved into artist interviews, industry news, album previews and more, and remains one of the most well respected PodCasts in Christian music today.

Another popular NRT series is also celebrating its 200th episode this week. In March of 2008, NRT partnered with writer Kevin Davis to publish a new devotional series called “Behind The Song.” The series involves Davis speaking to a different Christian artist each week about the Biblical inspirations behind one of their hit songs. The series quickly caught on with readers, was embraced by artists and publicists, and recently, Davis ramped up production to two episodes each week.
“I have been blessed with the ‘Behind The Song’ ministry,” says Davis. “I am a long time fan of Christian music and an avid music collector.  I credit the biblical message of Christian music for leading to my own personal salvation in Christ. As a result, I am passionate about bringing out the biblical messages in today’s Christian music.
“Each week, I have had the amazing opportunity to speak with Christian artists who exemplify what Christian music is supposed to be about…Jesus Christ. It’s my prayer that these devotionals will continue to encourage readers and influence people’s individual walks with Christ–or maybe to even lead people to Christ if they haven’t yet made the decision.
