Matthew Lockhart Joins David C Cook as Publisher

Colorado Springs, Colo., February 5, 2016 – David C Cook is pleased to announce that Christian publishing veteran Matthew Lockhart joined the organization on February 1 as publisher of the Standard Lesson Commentary, Bible-in-Life curriculum, and adult trade book resources.

Lockhart has over twenty years of experience in the industry, specializing in developing resources for the Church and its leaders. He has served in a variety of roles at Serendipity House, at Group Publishing, and most recently at Standard Publishing as vice-president, general manager, and publisher.

“I’m excited to be joining the David C Cook team,” Lockhart says. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work alongside the gifted people at Cook in developing dynamic learning resources for the Church that help shape disciples and equip leaders around the world.” As a Colorado native, Lockhart says he is also looking forward to enjoying the Colorado outdoors and being closer to extended family.

David C Cook acquired the internationally respected curriculum resources of Standard Publishing and Gospel Light in the fall of 2015. These additions led to the development of the Learning Resources Strategic Ministry Unit (SMU) that realigned Cook’s books and curriculum. Lockhart joins Lindsay Black and Catherine DeVries as publishers within the SMU. Chriscynethia Floyd serves as vice-president of sales and marketing, and Verne Kenney serves as executive publisher.
