Ada, Mich. (March 10, 2015)Kingdom Conspiracy by Scot McKnight was selected by Outreach Magazine as one of the 12th Annual Outreach Resources of the Year, with three other Baker Publishing Group titles listed as recommended resources.

Outreach Magazine strives to inspire and equip readers in their unique ministries. With almost 170 submissions in 14 categories, the 14 panelists who evaluated the various publications had the opportunity to select one or more Outreach Resources of the Year and also highlight additional titles as recommended resources.

Kingdom Conspiracy (Brazos Press; ISBN 9781587433603; ebook ISBN 9781441221476; $21.99) by Scot McKnight was named the Outreach Resource of the Year in the Missional Church category. McKnight argues that kingdom is the most misused term used by Christians today. He offers a sizzling biblical corrective and a fiercely radical vision for the role of the local church in the kingdom of God.

Todd Engstrom, executive pastor of ministries at The Austin Stone Community Church, states that Kingdom Conspiracy “is a timely resource for the missional church to re-examine some basic assumptions that impact church practice in the everyday.”

God’s Wider Presence (Baker Academic; ISBN 9780801049453; ebook ISBN 9781441246288; $25.99) by Robert K. Johnston was selected as recommended reading in the Culture category. Roxanne Stone, vice president of publishing at Barna Group, states, “At a time when fewer and fewer adults are attending church, Johnston’s winsome celebration of God’s revelation through art, nature, and beauty feels particularly important.”

iGods (Brazos Press; ISBN 9781587433443; ebook ISBN 9781441244819; $17.99) by Craig Detweiler was also selected as recommended reading in the Culture category. “What today has changed us more than technology?” Roxanne Stone asks. “Detweiler offers a comprehensive and imminently relevant look at various technologies and the ways they have and will continue to shape our faith.”

The Grave Robber (Baker Books; ISBN 9780801015946; ebook ISBN 9781441221131; $22.99) by Mark Batterson was recommended in the Christian Living category. Tom Bandy, an internationally recognized consultant, conference speaker, and leadership coach for Christian organizations and faith-based nonprofits, states that The Grave Robber “is a lively commentary on the first seven miracles of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John. This book will take any small group discussion to a new depth of insight into God’s work in the wide world and your neighborhood.”

Baker Publishing Group publishes high-quality writings that represent historic Christianity and serve the diverse interests and concerns of evangelical readers.
