Carol Stream, Ill. (June 28, 2016)—Tyndale House Publishers (@tyndalehouse) announced today the addition of long-time Christian retail veteran, Jim Gager, as Brand Director for the Life Application Study Bible.  In his new role, Gager will lead the study Bible and Bible reference group within the Tyndale Bible Team.

“Jim’s extensive experience in the Bible category is a welcome addition as we continue to find new ways of making the Bible accessible,” said Blaine Smith, Associate Bible Publisher. “In his role at Family Christian Stores, Jim was a key partner in the successful launch of the New Living Translation and industry leading sub-brands like the Christian Book Award-winning Chronological Life Application Study Bible and this year’s winner, the NLT Illustrated Study Bible.

Prior to joining Tyndale, Gager worked in the Christian Retail industry for more than 25 years as part of the Family Christian Stores team. Beginning as a store manager in Florida and later in Michigan, Jim was quickly promoted within the company to become the lead buyer for Bibles, Bible reference, and books.

“Over the years we have developed a deep appreciation for Jim’s commitment to impacting the lives of people through Christian literature,” said Doug Knox, Senior Vice-President and Group Publisher. “We are looking forward to the impact Jim will have on the Life Application Study Bible brand along with our growing line-up of study, reference, and specialty Bible sub-brands. We are delighted that Jim is able to join the Tyndale Team.”

Tyndale House Publishers (www.tyndale.com) was founded in 1962 to publish Living Letters, which later comprised part of The Living Bible, a contemporary paraphrase of the Bible that became a global publishing phenomenon. Tyndale launched the New Living Translation in 1996, and is now the world’s largest privately held Christian publisher of Bibles. The New Living Translation has sold over 34 million copies to date and is recognized around the world as one of the leading modern English translations. All royalties from the New Living Translation as well as the largest portion of Tyndale’s profits go to the nonprofit Tyndale House Foundation, which makes grants to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of people around the world.
