How do you exclude a domain from your Google search criteria to ensure you find external mentions?
To exclude a specific domain from your Google search criteria, you can use the “-site:” operator followed by the domain you want to exclude. For example, to exclude our client Welby O’Brien’s domain welbyo.com from the search results, you can follow these steps:
  1. Go to www.google.com in your web browser.
  2. In the search bar, type your search query. For example, you can type “Welby O’Brien mentions.”
  3. After your search query, add “-site:welbyo.com” (without the quotes).
    • Your search query should look like this: “Welby O’Brien mentions -site:welbyo.com”.
  4. Press Enter or click the Search button to perform the search.

By including “-site:welbyo.com” in your search query, Google will exclude any results from the WelbyO.com domain, helping you find external mentions of the wonderful Welby O’Brien on other websites.
