Highly Controversial Documentary – THE PRINCIPLE –
to Release on DVD and Blu-Ray December 8
“THOUGHTCRIME,” a Documentary Short on the Conspiracy
to Silence THE PRINCIPLE, Available to Screen Free of Charge
Los Angeles, CA – One of the most controversial films of our time, THE PRINCIPLE, has revealed surprising results from recent large-scale surveys of our universe. These surveys uncover evidence of the significance of the Earth in the cosmos and question the centuries old belief that the Earth is not in any specially privileged or central position in the universe. While the film received resistance from the science community, The Principle garnered much attention and support in its limited theatrical engagement including multi-week runs in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego. Now, The Principle will be available to everyone on DVD, Blu-Ray and streaming beginning December 8, 2015.
The creators of the project just launched a free 20-minute documentary short, exposing the conspiracy to discredit The Principle and minimize its impact. The title, THOUGHTCRIME is borrowed from George Orwell’s iconic 1984, where thoughtcrimes are criminal acts of holding opposing beliefs or asking questions that challenge the ruling party.
“We knew The Principle would be controversial, but we didn’t realize how much criticism we would receive for simply asking a question about our place the universe,” explains Writer/Producer Rick DeLano. “It makes me ask why big science would react so hysterically to an independent documentary – in fact, the very first to examine the Copernican Principle. What did we uncover in the film that has made our leading scientists so uncomfortable?”
The documentary short can be viewed on the Thoughtcrime interactive site, https://ThePrinciple.lnk.to/Thoughtcrime, or in its entirety on YouTube at https://youtu.be/0eVUSDy_rO0. This is an informative interactive website that actively engages the user with the details presented in the Thoughtcrime documentary.
The Principle explores the significance of the Earth’s place within the Cosmos. Tracing the development of cosmology from its inception (Stonehenge, the Great Pyramid at Giza), through the great revolution of Copernicus, to the astonishing new discoveries of Earth-oriented alignments in the largest structures of our observable universe, The Principle leads us face-to-face with the question, and the challenge – are we significant within the structure of the Universe, and, if so, why and finally, what does this mean for the future of mankind?
“The question of our place in the cosmos is the greatest scientific detective story in all of the history,” explains DeLano. “The world has been shaped by two great assertions – one places us in the center of it all and the other one relegates us to utter insignificance. Amazingly, The Principle is the first documentary to examine this persistent puzzle at the heart of modern science.”
The Principle features narration by Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek Voyager, Orange Is The New Black and Ryan’s Hope), visual animations by BUF Compagnie Paris (Life of Pi, Thor, Harry Potter), and commentary from prominent scientists including George Ellis, Michio Kaku, Julian Barbour, Lawrence Krauss, and Max Tegmark.
The Principle was written and produced by Rick DeLano through his Stellar Motion Pictures, LLC and was directed by Katheryne “Ktee” Thomas of In Ohm Entertainment. The Executive Producer is Robert Sungenis.
