(Nashville, TN) May 26, 2016—HarperCollins Christian Publishing (HCCP) announces an expanded role for Jerri Helms to senior director, Digital Marketing Strategy. While continuing to lead digital marketing efforts for the Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Bible brands, she will assume an expanded role that incorporates digital strategies across the company.
Helms joined Zondervan in 2008 as marketing director for Symtio. After the sale of Symtio, she oversaw web marketing for Zondervan and then moved her concentration full-time to the Church, Academic, Reference and Reflective (CARR) publishing team. In 2013, Helms joined the HCCP Bible Group to support both Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Bibles as senior director, Digital Marketing for Bibles.
Since joining the Bible Group, Helms has played a key role in building the company’s Bible reading plans on YouVersion, resulting in over one million completed reading plans. These reading plans allow consumers to sample Thomas Nelson and Zondervan books and Bibles. Helms also leads the directive to grow the Bible Group’s email marketing program, currently with more than 2.7 million subscribers, and social presence that has more than 800,000 Facebook followers. When appropriate, Helms also strategically aligns her efforts with parent company HarperCollins US to leverage additional synergies and marketing momentum.
In her new role, Helms will continue to lead the digital marketing direction for Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Bibles. In addition she will drive digital marketing synergies across HCCP, reporting to Doug Lockhart, s-v-p Bible Marketing and Outreach. Helms will work across all of HCCP to further leverage digital advertising capabilities, identify synergistic content marketing opportunities, and train stakeholders on the use of HCCP digital tracking tools.
