GRAND RAPIDS, MI – John Lennox, author of the best-selling book God’s Undertaker and fellow in mathematics and philosophy of science at Green Templeton College of Oxford University, is referenced in a pivotal scene in the Pure Flix film God’s Not Dead, releasing on DVD August 5.
A frequent guest of Ravi Zacharias, the Discovery Institute, and The Veritas Forum, Lennox uses his boldness and dynamic wit to engage audiences worldwide and to share the message that the word “faith” has been misconstrued to mean “blind faith” rather than “evidence-based faith.”
Whether the topic is atheism, cosmology, evolution, or the concept of “information,” Lennox’s unique arguments have engaged academic readers and have now been brought to the attention of a much larger audience in God’s Not Dead, the breakout film that describes a college student’s battle with his atheistic philosophy professor.
“It was good to see that the makers of the God’s Not Dead movie thought the arguments contained in my books were important enough to feature in the film,” says Lennox. “It is gratifying to learn that many viewers found these scenes both credible and convincing.”
Lennox’s travels often bring him to the U.S., including a recent tour with The Veritas Forum and the opening plenary talk at the 2014 Faith and Science Conference: Genesis and Genetics in Springfield, MO.
Lennox’s next book, Against the Flow, is scheduled for a March 2015 release under Lion Hudson’s Monarch imprint. Written to encourage Christians, it will explore the book of Daniel and will mix commentary, history, and apologetics.
For those who would like an introduction to Lennox’s work, Kregel Publications, the U.S. distributor for Lion Books, offers a copy of God and Stephen Hawking, a shorter book that guides the reader through the key points in Stephen Hawking’s arguments.
