Colorado Springs, CO (June 2, 2015) – Executive Publisher Verne Kenney announced today that Chriscynethia Floyd, a well-respected and sought-after publishing leader, has been selected as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Books and New Media at David C Cook. In this role Floyd will be responsible for strategic planning, resource development and project acquisitions for the Books and New Media unit reporting directly to Kenney starting July 6. 

“Chriscynethia has an incredible background in in the publishing industry and has held key positions in marketing, sales and product creation. She brings a fresh look to our work of creating disciple-shaping content for local churches around the world. I’ve had the privilege of working with her in the past and know her to be a person that brings unique insights along with really strong leadership skills,” said Kenney. “Chriscynethia’s publishing experience is equaled by her service to her community and the Kingdom. Floyd’s twenty-year publishing career includes Barnes & Noble Booksellers, the Children’s Defense Fund, the Perseus Book Group and HarperCollins/Zondervan, where she served as National Accounts Manager for children’s product at HarperCollins Publishers and Zonderkidz.  Most recently she has served as the VP of marketing for the trade group of HarperCollins Christian Publishers and VP of marketing for Zonderkidz, managing key corporate publishing brands such as Berenstain Bears, I Can Read, Veggie Tales andPurpose Driven Life.

In addition to her publishing career, Floyd is a classically trained vocalist who has performed for Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Floyd will be relocating to Colorado Springs.
