Center Street Author Ted Dekker Honored
as Opening Night Speaker for Influence Conference

Nashville, Tenn.—New York Times bestselling author Ted Dekker was chosen by The General Council of the Assemblies of God to serve as an opening night speaker for their Influence Conference on August 3, 2015, in Orlando, Florida.

As an author of over 35 books since the early 1990s, Ted Dekker is best known for his Christian thrillers that keep readers on edge with their suspenseful twists and confrontations between good and evil. After dreaming of entering the life of Jesus through his writings for over 10 years, Dekker published A.D. 30: A Novel last year, which is the first book in his new historical fiction series based on the teachings of Jesus. In A.D. 30, Dekker tells the epic journey of a woman named Maviah who rises from the depths of her society to lead her people once she decides to follow Jesus. An abridged ebook version of A.D. 30 was released this week by Center Street on August 4th. The second book in the series, A.D. 33, will be published later this fall on October 6th.

For 56 years, The General Council has hosted the Influence Conference to provide people with an opportunity to focus and be shaped by the Holy Spirit. The theme of this year’s conference was SOAR: Spirit-Empowered Life. Roughly 30,000 people attend the conference as they seek Jesus, network with fellow leaders, and be challenged by speakers who are making a difference in our world.
