Grand Rapids, Mich., Nov. 3, 2015 – Candace Cameron Bure has announced she will be hosting a book club on her site for Hoodwinked: Ten Myths Moms Believe & Why We All Need to Knock It Off (on sale Nov. 3, 2015) by New York Times bestselling author Karen Ehman and Ruth Schwenk.
The Hoodwinked Book Club beings Monday, November 16. Participants are invited to visit Candace’s site every Monday and Thursday (Wednesday the week of Thanksgiving) or they can sign up to receive posts via email. Prizes will be given away throughout the book club as well.
In Hoodwinked Ehman and Schwenk have joined forces to knock seemingly perfect moms like Mrs. Cleaver off their pedestal. They have had enough of the misconceptions and want to expose the myths that are overwhelming moms everywhere. Myths such as: “the way I mother is the right (and only) way,” “motherhood is natural, easy and instinctive,” or “my child’s bad choice means I’m a bad mom.”
The book offers a series of relatable and entertaining personal accounts from two mothers at different stages of motherhood. Ehman has a high schooler and two grown children, and Schwenk is the mother of four kids between six and thirteen. Their stories, combined with related biblical accounts, reveal that the wisdom of motherhood and developing the necessary tools will happen, but it takes practice and prayer. Hoodwinked leaves mothers reassured, educated, and inspired.
