Bridgeway Academy CEO to Speak at Florida Parent-Educators Association’s Special Needs Conference

Florida’s Gardiner Scholarship Funds Available for Customized
Homeschool Programs from BRIDGEWAY ACADEMY

Jessica Parnell, CEO of Bridgeway Academy, is honored to participate in three breakout sessions at the upcoming Florida Special Needs Conference for Gifted and Struggling Learners.  The conference will be held November 18-19 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL.

As President of nationally accredited homeschool academy Bridgeway Academy, Jessica is dedicated to giving students the flexibility to pursue their excellence while also gaining a individualized and accredited education.

At the conference, Jessica will be leading the sessions on Movers and Shakers: Curriculum and Teaching Strategies for the Struggling Child, and Moms are from Venus; Kids are from Mars.  Jessica will also participate in the Q&A session on Gifted students.

“All too often both gifted and struggling learners develop poor self-esteem and an adversity to taking risks as a result of the one sized fits all approach to education necessary in our school systems,” she explains. “When parents step in to take control of their child’s education, they not only affect their child’s academic success but they also set the stage for a brighter future. We celebrate that commitment and truly count it a privilege to help parents find strategies today that affect success tomorrow.”

Jessica’s unique multi-faceted approach is designed to help families understand the nuances between a significant learning problem and giftedness as well as the incredible strengths of both. Based on decades of research, Jessica has helped thousands of students achieve success through a better understanding of a child’s learning style (kinesthetic, visual, and auditory), personality style and unique learning needs, then applying that knowledge to change the way Bridgeway Academy assigns courses, curriculum and even parent teacher aides.  Homeschooling provides the perfect backdrop for this brand of heightened education programs.

Many school systems today are unable to bring all students the advanced services required to ensure special needs and gifted student success. Parents have the freedom to homeschool students with special needs in every state, and Florida is a state that offers generous opportunities to help families find the best education options for their children.

Florida’s Gardiner Scholarship (PLSA) is a unique scholarship that allows parents to personalize the education of their children with unique abilities by directing money toward a combination of programs and approved providers.  As an approved provider, Bridgeway Academy counts it an honor to work with the Gardiner Scholarship to provide homeschool programs that are tailored to the specific needs of each student. The scholarship amount varies according to grade and county of residence and disability, with an average amount of $10,000  during 2016-2017.
