ASHLAND, Ohio (November 23, 2015) – Dan Verdick has been named to the new director of national sales position at Bookmasters, one of the largest providers of integrated book publishing services in the United States.
Verdick has held sales and marketing management positions with publishers of varying size and focus, covering the spectrum of trade, academic, and children’s publishing. These publishers include MBI Publishing / Motorbooks, ABDO Publishing, Pinnacle Publishing, Fairview Press, Redleaf Press, and the University of Minnesota Press. Most recently, Verdick served as the vice president of national accounts for Children’s Plus, Inc.
“With 20 years in the industry, Dan has a proven track record of managing teams and maximizing publisher assets to create sales growth,” said Jon Ackerman, senior vice president of sales at Bookmasters. “His versatility and deep knowledge of publishing and the media industry serve his publisher customers well. We are fortunate to have Dan on the Bookmasters team.”
Verdick will assume the leadership and management of Bookmasters’ relationship with Amazon and will also spearhead the Bookmasters’ team of independent, commissioned sales representatives. Additionally, Verdick will have an oversight role in the management of critical sales support functions such as organizing national account presentations, seasonal title launch conferences, and catalog production. This new position at Bookmasters will allow for better delineation of account responsibility as Bookmasters continues to build its sales teams.
