ASHLAND, Ohio (November 16, 2015) – Bookmasters, one of the largest providers of integrated book publishing services in the U.S., has signed partnership agreements with Brill and Turpin Distribution.
Effective January 1, 2016, Bookmasters will provide print-on-demand (POD) services for Brill in North America in conjunction with Baker & Taylor’s print-to-order (PTO) program. In addition, Bookmasters will become the North American warehousing partner for Turpin Distribution, who oversees the worldwide distribution, customer service, and fulfillment of Brill’s journals and print books.
This partnership will mean faster fulfillment times for orders placed in the Americas, via trade and library channels as well as via individuals. In addition, gained efficiencies in print manufacturing and inventory management will provide a more streamlined approach to the distribution, customer service, and fulfillment for books and journals.
“Brill has long sought for a POD supplier based in the Americas that could live up to the level of quality our customers expect,” said Ove Kähler, director of product management and global distribution at Brill. “Bookmasters was able to deliver that level of quality, and Turpin was able to work with us to provide this service to this important customer base.”
“We are delighted that Turpin has been chosen as Brill’s global fulfillment partner,” said Neil Castle, commercial director at Turpin Distribution. “This new global partnership including the Americas builds upon many years of experience gained from supporting Brill in Europe and the rest of the world. We very much look forward to working closely with both Brill’s American trade partners and direct customers.”
“Our partnership with Brill fits well with the Bookmasters model, leveraging our POD book production for daily demand coupled with providing on-site inventory replenishment,” said Ken Fultz, general manager at Bookmasters. “We’re very pleased to also have been chosen as Turpin’s fulfilment partner in North America.”
“Baker & Taylor is thrilled to have Brill join the community of academic and scholarly publishers who participate in the Digital Print Solutions print-to-order program,” said Elizabeth Scarpelli, director of publisher services at Baker & Taylor. “We are eager to support them in their goals to maximize efficiencies in cost, workflow, and supply chain management.”
Brill is reaching out to customers to guide them through the transition. Visit www.brill.com for more information or email sales-us@brill.com.
