DeAnna Kaine, the Director of Operations, had this to say about the theme and the purpose of the conference:

It may sound cliché, but with each season brings about a new sense of HOPE. We change our clocks forward in March, we have March Madness basketball, March brings about Spring Break from school, we start our season of lent in March, and March is also Bible appreciation month. That doesn’t mean we only appreciate the Living Word in March, but we set aside this special time of year to share with others our favorite Bible verses. It is a designated time to truly honor the Bible.

I have so many verses that I rely on, but that is because they serve a purpose in my time of prayer, or when I am in a prayer vigil for family, friends, or those in need of special prayer. My favorite verse that I think I rely on the most is Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your mind and heart through Jesus Christ.”

This verse brings me HOPE. This verse tells me that no matter what I am going through, I am protected under God’s grace and his son’s precious blood. This verse covers so much ground and is all encompassing for everything and anything we might be facing. This verse gives HOPE by reassuring us that when we don’t have answers, and we are stuck with asking “why,” God is still protecting us through His perfect peace. It let’s us know that we don’t always need to have the answers.

By the time we reach ASCEND 2016 – HOPE, we will have gone through 2 more seasons. During this time of intermission before we gather, we would like to invite you to visit our website: www.ascendconference.org, and scroll to the bottom of our home page and connect with us. We invite you to let us know your prayers, your fears, and your HOPES so we can pray for you during our time before the conference. We read each prayer, and we faithfully lift your prayers up to God for his answers. WE stand in agreement, where “two or more are gathered in his name, what is bound in heaven will be bound on earth, and what is loosed in heaven will be loosed on earth.”
We want to encourage you to seek HOPE in prayer, and ask our Sovereign Lord to give you HOPE.
