(Nashville, TN) – The Carol Awards, which recognize the best Christian fiction published in the previous calendar year, honored Abingdon Press novelist Lisa Carter for her book Under the Turquoise Sky on Saturday, September 19, 2015. The award was presented at the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference Gala, the conclusion to their 2015 conference, which was held this year in Dallas, Texas. 

Receiving the Carol Award in the Romantic Suspense category, Under a Turquoise Sky by Lisa Carter features a feisty federal witness, Kailyn Eudaily, and the stubborn federal agent, Aaron Yazzie, who is assigned to protect Kailyn from the drug cartel that threatens her life. Aaron’s broken past and Kailyn’s explosive present race toward each other at a dangerous pace in this brilliant plot-twisting suspense about murder and mercy, great loss and greater love hidden deep in the canyons and arroyos of the Navajo Nation. The book has been heralded as a “thrilling romantic suspense” and “a page turner you don’t want to put down” by Christian suspense authors DiAnn Mills and Margaret Daley. 

Lisa Carter is the author of Carolina Reckoning, Beneath a Navajo Moon, Under a Turquoise Sky, and Vines of Entanglement, as well as Aloha Rose, part of Abingdon’s Quilts of Love series.
