(Nashville, TN) – Abingdon Press was honored by the 2014 Foreword Reviews’ IndieFab Book of the Year Awards with four awards. The award program was created to discover distinctive books from the indie publishing community across a number of genres. The award winners were determined by a select group of more than 100 librarians and booksellers from around the country, and were announced during a program at the American Library Association Annual Conference in San Francisco on June 26.
Man’s Best Hero: True Stories of Great American Dogs by Ace Collins took the top prize for its category receiving the Gold award in the Adult Nonfiction: Pets category, All My Belongings by Cynthia Ruchti received a Silver award in the Adult Fiction: Religious category, and Bronze winners were Nora Bonesteel’s Christmas Past by Sharyn McCrumb in the Adult Fiction: General category and Home to Chicory Lane by Deborah Raney in the Adult Fiction: Religious category.
The publisher also garnered finalist nods for: Slowing Time: Seeing the Sacred Outside Your Kitchen Door by Barbara Mahany in the Adult Nonfiction: Body, Mind, & Spirit category, and The Book of Not So Common Prayer: A New Way to Pray, A New Way to Live by Linda McCullough Moore, and When God Becomes Small by Phil Needham in the Adult Nonfiction: Religion category.
