(Nashville, TN) – The Christy Awards which promote excellence in Christian Fiction honored Abingdon novelist Ace Collins for his book The Color of Justice on Monday evening June 29, 2015. This is the first Christy finalist—and the first win—for an Abingdon Fiction novel.
Receiving the Christy Award in the Suspense category, The Color of Justice by Ace Collins is a courtroom thriller set in 1964 and 2014 that follows two racially-charged murder trials, fifty years apart, in the small town of Justice, Mississippi. Coop Lindsey and later his grandson are the attorneys charged with searching for the truth in a town divided by color and class. Because hate destroys everything it touches, the Lindsay family will not escape unscathed.
“I owe thanks to my agent, Joyce Hart, as well as my editor, Ramona Richards, for taking a chance on publishing a book about the controversial topics of race relations, family secrets, and the search for true and final justice,” says Collins. “This award has thrilled me beyond measure.”
Ace Collins is the best-selling and award-winning author of more than 60 titles that have landed him on national televisions shows and radio broadcasts. The Color of Justice is Ace’s latest bestseller, appearing in the suspense category of the CBA bestseller list in both January and February 2015.
“It was a joy to work with Ace Collins in the crafting of his award-winning novel,” says Ramona Richards, Senior Acquisitions Editor at Abingdon Press. “We celebrate this award with him and look forward to its continued success.”
The Christy Awards were started in 1999 when nearly a dozen Christian publishers gathered to recognize novelists and novels of excellence that, according to the award website, “nurture and encourage creativity… from a Christian worldview.” More information about the awards can be found at ChristyAwards.com.
