NASHVILLE, TN – Abingdon Press recently signed distribution agreements with Barnes & Noble, Symtio, Dial-A-Book, and Baker & Taylor to provide Christian content in a range of digital formats. Along with more than 250 titles currently available on Amazon’s Kindle, Abingdon Press is preparing to deploy a broader eBook distribution network by delivering content on Blio and nook platforms, as well as offering download options on Symtio and providing first chapters and metadata via Dial-A-Book.
"Abingdon Press has been in the eBook business for quite some time, selling our first eBooks in Microsoft and Palm formats on our Cokesbury.com distribution channel more than ten years ago", says Abingdon Press Vice President, Tammy Gaines. "The introduction of these new eBook pipelines will allow us to expand the audience for our new Christian fiction line as well as for our leadership and educational titles."
Over the next few months, Abingdon Press staff will work closely with distribution partners to prepare and deploy eBook versions of bestsellers such as Enough by Adam Hamilton. "Recently The Prayers of Agnes Sparrow, a novel by Joyce Magnin, spent several days in the Top 25 in the Kindle store and was downloaded over 7,000 times", says Susan Salley, executive director of marketing for Abingdon Press. "With these new distribution agreements in place, we intend to create cross-platform marketing campaigns allowing customers to benefit no matter which device they choose to consume content on."
The agreement with Dial-A-Book will provide first chapters and other critical metadata for print titles to many major distribution channels including Baker & Taylor, Barnes and Noble, Ingram and Buy.com. Dial-A-Book also reformats excerpts for iPhone and Windows Mobile use.
