(Nashville, Tenn.) April 4, 2012 — After just a few short weeks of “stepping into the story of scripture,” on a 30-stop tour with “The Voice,” fans of the music group Gungor are showing monumental support for the newest Bible translation from Thomas Nelson, Inc.
During the Spring 2012 tour, which wraps at the end of April, the band Gungor has brought live readings and scripture sharing from “The Voice” to their stage, allowing the audience to truly understand that this is not just another translation of God’s Word. “I have really been enjoying reading ‘The Voice’”, says Michael Gungor, namesake, producer and leader of the group. “I think it’s extremely important to have a cultural context for the Scriptures that we as Christians hold so dear, and ‘The Voice’ helps the reader enter the world of the Scriptures in a helpful and unique way. It’s been a nice supplement to the story we are trying to tell in our live show.”
Thomas Nelson, the world’s largest Christian publisher, released ‘The Voice New Testament’ in November 2011 and will release the full Bible in April 2012. Since the New Testament’s release, more than 100,000 copies have hit the market receiving rave reviews and exceeding initial expectations.
“’The Voice’ just keeps spreading; it is amazing to see God’s story attract so much attention,” says Gary Davidson, senior vice president and Bible group publisher for Thomas Nelson. To have a well-known group like Gungor love ‘The Voice’ and proclaim their excitement for this new translation is verification that we are on the right path to share God’s grace with the world.”
