Video about new Tyndale Momentum imprint is available here: http://www.tyndalemomentum.com/ Carol Stream, IL—In a step aimed at positioning itself for greater growth, clarifying its structure and recognizing the success of a key publishing team at the company, Tyndale House Publishers announced today that one of the company’s two non-fiction publishing groups is being officially designated as a separate imprint: Tyndale Momentum. Janis Long Harris, formerly Associate Publisher for Nonfiction reporting to Senior VP and Group Publisher Doug Knox, has been named as publisher of the imprint. “We are thrilled to recognize Tyndale Momentum as its own imprint,” said CEO Mark Taylor. “While the name is new, Tyndale Momentum will have the same team that has built a very successful non-fiction program under the direction of Jan Long Harris. I feel the name really captures the energy and direction of this team.” The Tyndale Momentum team has already had numerous publishing successes, including such recent New York Times bestsellers as The Boy Who Came back From Heaven by Kevin and Alex Malarkey; Quiet Strength. Uncommon, Mentor Leader and the One Year Uncommon Life Daily Challenge by Tony Dungy; Son of Hamas by Mosab Hassan Yousef, Bringing Up Girls by Dr. James Dobson, The Cause within You by Matthew Barnett, and The Devil in Pew Number Seven by Rebecca Alonzo. The group has also published such conversation-starting books as Revolution by George Barna, Jim & Casper Go to Church by Jim Henderson and Matt Casper and UnPlanned by Abby Johnson. Upcoming books from Tyndale Momentum include Winning Balance, a memoir by Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Shawn Johnson; Fresh Air, a debut book by megachurch pastor Chris Hodges; and Your Heart’s Desire by popular author and speaker Sheri Rose Shepherd. The team, which launched the SaltRiver line of thoughtful books in 2004, and the BarnaBooks line in 2005, will continue to publish a portion of its list under sub-brands. Both Tyndale non-fiction teams will publish titles in Tyndale’s highly successful One Year devotional line. “In an effort to cast a wider net for its overall non-fiction publishing, Tyndale has for a long time maintained two non-fiction trade book publishing groups within the larger publishing divisions headed up by Doug Knox and Ron Beers,” said COO Jeff Johnson. “While we believe we have achieved this goal, at times there has been some confusion about this structure among agents, authors, and retailers because both non-fiction groups primarily published under the traditional Tyndale logo. “The creation of the Tyndale Momentum imprint will provide greater clarity to those we serve and position the company as a whole to take advantage of the unprecedented number of high-level publishing opportunities that are coming our way.” Both Tyndale non-fiction groups will continue to share the in-house resources of one of the world’s largest privately-owned Christian publishers, including those offered by Tyndale’s talented sales, editorial, production, design, web, advertising and public relations teams.
