CAROL STREAM, Ill.—Dr. Tony Evans, a pastor, teacher, speaker, and author known for his philosophy of connecting biblical spirituality with social responsibility, is set to release Kingdom Man (Focus On The Family/Tyndale House Publishers) on March 13, 2012, a book about raising the standard and defining manhood as God intended it to be.

“Being a man is the greatest responsibility and opportunity,” Evans says, “I want every man to feel that feeling of what they have been created for and are called to. That is why I wrote this book. There are many false definitions of manhood going around and as a result we have broken families, passive men, fatherless children, prison populations, lack of leadership and single women with no one to marry.”
Kingdom Man provides concepts men are able to follow that will help them to actively pursue ways to develop, and maximize, the character qualities of biblical manhood in their lives. Evans does this through personal stories and reflections of his youth, sports analogies, and biblical teachings in the engaging and conversational manner he is known for.

“Kingdom Man is a playbook for life,” says Tony Dungy, NBC Football Night in America analyst. “Tony Evans has laid out the game plan to follow if we, as men, want to live a championship life. He not only describes what we need to do, but more important, he also shows us how to do it. This book is a must-read for any man who wants to live up to God’s design for male leadership of the family!”
According to Evans, “just as a referee in an NFL game is only able to rule according to the rules of the rulebook, a kingdom man is released to rule when he makes his decisions and orders his world according to God’s rule.”

“We at Tyndale House Publishers are excited to be working with Dr. Tony Evans on his life-changing new book Kingdom Man,” says Jeff Rustemeyer, Senior Director, Focus Alliance. “Men and women alike will appreciate Dr. Evans’s message of redefining manhood as God intended it to be. Men will walk away inspired to be a kingdom man, and women will be thankful for men becoming who God destined them be.”

Evans will take part in social media promotions for Kingdom Man with a live webcast and Facebook party on March 14, 2012, from 11 a.m. to noon CST. Participants will be able to log on to the webcast through LifeWay Men’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/LifeWayMen. Evans two-part radio interview about Kindgom Man will air on Focus on the Family radio on March 13 and 14. Evans will also be taking part in a live conference call once a week for five weeks to go deeper into the five key areas of Kingdom Man. To sign up for these calls and/or learn more about the new book visit www.KingdomManBook.com.
