Peabody, Massachusetts (August 3, 2011): Today, Ray Hendrickson, President of Christianbook.com, announced that the company’s CBDReader is now available in the Apple App Store and the Android Market as a free download to any iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod Touch®, as well as over 475 Android™- based smart phones and tablets.

Hendrickson commented, “We are thrilled to expand the reach of the CBDReader platform to include our new native apps for Apple and Android devices. These native apps provide our customers with more flexibility and an even better reading experience on devices they already own, without having to purchase another expensive electronic device. Prior to today, our e-reading options included the CBDReader HTML5 web app for devices with a modern browser such as PCs/laptops and iPhone/iPad/iPod. As always, customers will continue to have the ability to download eBooks to eReaders like the Nook, Kobo eReader, and Sony Reader.”

The CBDReader is an all-encompassing eBook reading platform that enables you to read eBooks wherever you want to–on a smartphone, a tablet computer, a PC/Mac desktop or laptop, or many of your favorite e-ink devices. The new native apps will store all of your eBooks and their bookmarks on the Christianbook.com cloud, so you can start reading on one computer or device and move to another without losing your place.

Equipped with many features, the CBDReader has a night-time reading mode, allows users to select fonts and change font sizes to suit their own reading preferences, and offers single- and two-page views for tablet devices. Traditional eBook downloads continue to be supported as well, so users can still choose to read on an e-ink device–just as they would with many other eBook retailers.

With the largest selection of Christian eBooks available, the cutting-edge eBook store at Christianbook.com offers many exciting choices for e-reading. Newcomers are welcome to try eBooks for the first time with free samples of every eBook the site has to offer, while many regular customers enjoy choosing from a continually updated selection of complete eBooks at no charge.

In closing, Hendrickson added, “We’ve come a long way since launching our eBook store in September 2010; our staff has been extremely diligent in keeping up with the latest technology hitting the marketplace, and making sure our CBDReader is a top-notch app that our customers will find indispensable. Our eBook store offers an expansive selection of best-selling Christian titles, Bibles, Christian living resources, fiction novels, homeschool materials and more, so the launch of these new apps is very exciting for us, as it is a culmination of hard work and a deep desire on our part to give our customers every opportunity to take advantage of today’s technology and choose the best format that suits their individual reading preferences.”
