ORLANDO, Florida – May 18, 2011
This week the award-winning Glo Bible added the iPhone to the roster of free app downloads that includes Mac, PC and iPad. The free download includes the zoomable interface and interactive media that has garnered Glo so much attention in its desktop application. Also included is the New International Version (NIV), the world’s most popular Bible translation, revised in late 2010 for the first time in 25 years. In digital form, the NIV has reached as high as #5 out of all e-books available in Apple’s iBook store, and consistently maintaining top three status in the religion and spirituality category, most weeks at #1. The King James Version (KJV) Bible, the world’s second most popular translation and currently celebrating its 400th anniversary celebration, is included as well.

Glo features zoom technology and an intuitive touch interface to present a rich interactive database of historic as well as contemporary information including photos, video, maps, artwork, 360-degree virtual tours and more. This much anticipated iPhone app launch gives Glo users a new way to explore the Bible anytime and anywhere.  “As content moves from paper to digital it is not enough to mimic paper in an electronic form,” says Nelson Saba, CEO of Immersion Digital. ” We need to exploit the full potential of interactive digital media to enhance how such content is experienced. That is the idea behind Glo; a digital publishing platform that offers an enhanced user experience of the content through media.”

"By adding the iPhone to Glo, people can now take their Glo Bible with them anywhere – and more people than ever will be able to experience Glo. We’re ecstatic to include the NIV Bible translation because it’s the translation people engage the most, and the inclusion of the King James Bible translation is a wonderful opportunity to help celebrate the Bible’s 400th year in the English language," says Peter Centofante, director of marketing for Glo.

This announcement comes on the heels of the recent partnership announcement between YouVersion and Glo. The collaboration includes the ability from within Glo to access YouVersion notes, add public & private notes, view community notes, and synchronize bookmarks on Glo for Mac, PC, iPhone and iPad.

Glo can be downloaded for free on iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac and PC worldwide from www.globible.com. New users can register to receive “Glo Lite” with complete access to the KJV as well as the bestselling NIV translation, along with select media samples, while existing users can login on any device to access their media and translations.
