NASHVILLE—Thomas Nelson Gift Books concluded 2009 with the Blessing & Truth Ultimate Giveaway sweepstakes, which featured beautiful and inspiring titles from Robin McGraw, Max Lucado, Hank Hanegraaff, Karla Dornacher, and Sarah Young, as well as three prize tiers.
Partnering with the world class execution team at e-prize, over twenty-three thousand entries were received and a 51.8% opt in rate of the registrants was achieved for the Blessing & Truth newsletter—12% above the vertical industry average for these sweepstakes. “The numbers were an encouraging success for this fairly new campaign,” observed Eric Mullett, marketing director for Thomas Nelson. “We’re grateful for the several thousand people who opted in to communicate with us further as a result, trusting us to bring them valuable holiday information throughout 2010.”
Within the three tiers of prizes, five winners were selected. The grand prize, a trip for two to a taping of the Dr. Phil television show in Los Angeles (or cash equivalent), was won by Jeffrey Byko of West Harford, Conn. First prize, a library of Max Lucado Books valued at $300, went to Susan Slaughter, of Arlington, Va. Second prizes of a $100 ThomasNelson.com gift certificate plus an autographed copy of either The Heart of Christmas by Hank Hanegraaff, Jesus Lives by Sarah Young, or Give Thanks by Karla Dornacher were awarded to Linda Shaffer of Newton, N.C., Bill Huffmaster of Olympia, Wash., and Jennifer Isaacs of Connersville, Ind.
