CAROL STREAM, IL—The Mom’s Choice Awards® has named What’s in the Bible? among the best in family-friendly media, products, and services. The first three DVDs in this new series by VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer—In the Beginning, Let My People Go!, and Wanderin’ in the Desert—are Mom’s Choice Awards® Gold Recipients.

The Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA) is an annual awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents, and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products, and services. Parents, educators, librarians, and retailers rely on MCA evaluations when selecting materials for children and families. The Mom’s Choice Awards® seal helps parents and educators navigate the vast array of products and services to make informed decisions about the media they bring into their homes and classrooms.

MCA’s esteemed panel of judges includes education, media, and other experts as well as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, authors, scientists, and others who evaluate the entrants through objective analysis. The MCA Executive Committee gives final approval to the results, honoring only the best in family-friendly media, products, and services that parents and educators can feel confident in using.

What’s in the Bible? (WITB) is Phil Vischer’s new 13-part DVD series produced by Jellyfish Labs and Tyndale Kids. Unlike previous efforts to retell Bible stories, WITB explains the entire Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—in a format that is humorous and entertaining for children and adults alike. Each DVD includes two 25 to 30-minute episodes that open the Bible to new generations, explaining how the Bible was formed, its major themes and leading figures, and even terms like Vulgate, Septuagint, canon, and Apocrypha. The series lays the foundation for deeper biblical understanding in viewers of all ages. The fourth DVD, Battle for the Promised Land!, explores the books of Joshua, Judges, and Ruth. It will be available in Christian retail outlets this October.
