Ginia Hairston will join David C Cook on September 8 as senior director of marketing for books and multimedia. An executive with sixteen years in the book publishing industry, she will provide strategic leadership to the marketing team in several key areas including branding, promotion, global product marketing, and publicity. Hairston holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in business with a focus on marketing from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She brings significant leadership capabilities, having previously served as vice-president of marketing for trade books with Zondervan as well as vice-president of marketing and publicity at WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing. An experienced marketing professional and problem solver, Hairston has a proven track record and a marketing and publicity portfolio that includes placing more than 75 books on the Christian Bestseller List and seven books on the New York Times Bestseller List. In addition, Hairston brings international strategic experience to her already extensive qualifications, having most recently served with Children’s HopeChest as program services director. She has also been an integral part of two corporate mergers and has subsequently rebuilt large marketing teams.
