La Vergne, TN – Skip Prichard, President and CEO of Ingram Content Group Inc., today expressed his company’s “deep gratitude” to the U.S. publishing community for contributing to the relief fund for Ingram associates affected by the recent flooding in the Nashville area.
“Over the past week, our community has witnessed some of the worst devastation as well as some of the greatest outpouring of local support and charity,” Mr. Prichard said. “Unfortunately, Ingram associates were not immune from the rising flood waters, and several have suffered massive losses.
“From the very first day that this devastating flood hit the national news, we have received such generous calls and messages from our publisher partners who simply said they want to help our people. I want to express my deep gratitude for this assistance, which has come in the form of checks from several publishers already. It is most welcome and much appreciated.
“It is good to know that our associates – many of whom have suffered heartbreaking losses in the flood – are esteemed so highly by the publishers we serve.”
While Ingram’s business operations were not directly affected by the flooding, many Ingram associates suffered heavy damages at their homes. Ingram Content Group associates and their families live across the greater Nashville area, where a total of 27 counties have now been declared a federal disaster zone.
Mr. Prichard explained that Ingram has taken several steps in the past week to assist associates, including establishment of a special relief fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Contributions can be made via the Community Foundation’s website at http://www.cfmt.org/ingram/
