CINCINNATI – April 15th, 2010 – Standard Publishing announced today that Larry Carpenter has resigned as President. His last day with the company will be May 7th.
Carpenter joined Standard in August of 2008, following a diverse career in Christian publishing. Coming out of the packaged goods industry where he worked at Procter & Gamble and Campbell Soup Company, Carpenter joined Ingram Book Company in 1987. After Ingram’s acquisition of Spring Arbor in 1997, Carpenter became President and CEO. In 1999, he left Ingram to form his own company FaithWorks, which was the first Christian full-service distributor. Following the sale of FaithWorks to STL Distribution, Carpenter joined Thomas Nelson as Vice President of Marketing. For the last year, he has served on the Board of the ECPA.
According to Carpenter, “Standard is a great company. It has been a pleasure to work with them.”
