Peabody, MA—Hendrickson Publishers is pleased to appoint Patricia Anders to the position of associate editor, effective November 4, 2013. She reports directly to Senior Editor Allan Emery.
Anders, formerly a freelance contractor for Hendrickson Publishers, will now play a major role in contributing to overall book and Bible publication. She will be responsible for copy editing and proofreading Hendrickson’s titles, and will work closely with the design and marketing teams to ensure that books and Bibles move through the production process efficiently. Anders will also assist in the acquisition of new titles for the company.
“We are so pleased that Anders has joined our team in a permanent role,” says Paul Hendrickson, general manager. “Her editorial and acquisitions background, in addition to great writing and management skills, will be valuable assets to our growing company.”
The newest addition to the publishing house brings years of professional editorial experience and academic administrative skills. Anders has served as the managing editor of Modern Reformation magazine, and as an instructor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Gordon College, Wenham, MA.
Previously at Yale University Press, she worked in the Acquisitions Department preparing manuscripts for editing and production, liaising with authors and editors, and coordinating with marketing and sales. Anders’ extensive editorial background also includes work at Oxford Analytica, Oxford, England, and at Biola University, CA. She received her B.A. in English from the University of Southern California, her M.A. in English literature and her M.F.A. in creative writing from Chapman University.
Anders lives with her husband Peter in Gloucester, MA, and is currently writing a history of First Congregational Church of Hamilton, MA, celebrating its 300th anniversary.
