Carol Stream, Ill. — Tyndale Momentum, an imprint of Tyndale House Publishers, today announced that on February 11, 2014, it will release Uncommon Marriage: What We’ve Learned about Lasting Love and Overcoming Life’s Obstacles Together ($22.99) by Tony and Lauren Dungy with Nathan Whitaker.  Dungy, whose memoir Quiet Strength reached #1 on the New York Times’ Best Sellers List following its July 2007 release, also saw his two subsequent books, Uncommon (January 2009) and The Mentor Leader (August 2010), reach No. 2 on the list.   A devotional, The One Year® Uncommon Life Daily Challenge, made an appearance on the prestigious NYT list as well. In all, Dungy’s books with Tyndale Momentum have sold more than 2.5 million copies.

In Uncommon Marriage, Dungy, the first African-American head coach in NFL history to guide his team to a Super Bowl title, joins his wife, Lauren, also a New York Times best-selling author of children’s books co-authored with her husband, to impart principles the couple has learned during their marriage. The Dungys will draw on their own experiences to offer hope, encouragement, and practical advice to those who would like their marriages to be “better” but aren’t sure what to do differently.

Said Jan Long Harris, publisher, “Tyndale Momentum highly values its relationship with the Dungys, and we are thrilled to have Lauren join Tony to write about their love story, as well as address a question that even couples in the best marriages must answer from time-to-time: How can we make our relationship stronger?”

Uncommon Marriage will feature personal stories from a couple who have not just made marriage work, but have done so joyfully and with a real sense of purpose and partnership. Through their stories, the Dungys relate real-life lessons they’ve learned about developing and maintaining a strong, fulfilling, faith-filled marriage.

This will be the first in a series of marriage products with Tony and Lauren, to be followed by a devotional and likely a DVD curriculum. An audio edition of Uncommon Marriage will be releasing simultaneously.
