CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Gospel Tide Ministry will host a Comedy Concert featuring Chonda Pierce on Friday, June 14 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Chonda Pierce is a renowned Christian Comedienne who has been entertaining audiences from coast-to-coast for more than a decade. She is a long-time favorite with the Women of Faith Conferences across the U.S.

Don Shenk, Director of The Tide, believes that watching Chonda perform will be an experience for the whole family to enjoy as she shares her Southern charm and laser-sharp wit. Each ticket purchased will help spread the good news of Jesus Christ around the world through radio programs that The Tide produces and broadcasts in the heart languages of villagers in Bhutan, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Zimbabwe – a total of 17 languages with a goal to bring the gospel to the world in an additional 12 languages by 2015.  This is all a part of The Tide’s newest project, Vison 2015.

“I am excited for The Tide to host Chonda Pierce, one of the most sought-after and popular Christian comediennes, at our benefit this year,” said Don Shenk, Director of the Tide. “We set an aggressive goal to introduce evangelistic radio programs in a total of 15 new languages by the year 2015 through The Tide’s Vision 2015 initiative, ultimately offering programming in 29 total languages across the globe by 2015. This event will help us to reach this goal and impact more lives with the love of Jesus Christ.”

Last April, The Tide began broadcasting in the Ibibio language in Nigeria. In January, The Tide added radio programming in the Anaang language in Nigeria, and in June, The Tide expanded even further to include the Dzongkha language spoken in Bhutan, a small nation in South Asia bordered by China and India.

The Tide has a core vision for its radio network as well. The ministry’sVision 2015 initiative builds on the momentum of more than six decades of radio ministry. With almost a quarter of the world’s population living within the current range of The Tide radio programming, and nearly 7,000 languages spoken in the world today, the opportunities are tremendous. Several new potential languages are also being considered for strategic Tide growth, such as those spoken by people in Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.

An alarmingly high number of people across the globe have never heard the message of God’s saving love for lack of a simple $40 radio. At the same time, Christianity is growing worldwide, partly because of programs like The Tide’s. Thousands of generous people across the United States have enabled The Tide’s radio programs to thrive and expand into even more countries through its “Sponsor a Radio” program that helps further projects like The Tide’s Radios for India and Radios for Nigeria.

For 67 years, The Tide radio programs have been changing lives by telling people about Jesus in the language they were born to speak. Founded in 1946 as the Gospel Tide Broadcasting Association, The Tide ministry has transitioned from a domestic radio program to a versatile multi-national outreach focusing on the least reached regions of the world. Through radio broadcasts in 14 heart languages, thousands of lost people are coming to know Christ. Driven by a sense of urgency to rescue the world from false teachings and pagan religious practices, The Tide board of directors has set an aggressive goal to introduce evangelistic radio programs in 15 additional languages by the year 2015. The Tide outreach includes discipleship seminars, literature distribution, Bible correspondence courses and leadership training. This combination of ministry elements has proven to be extremely effective in changing lives and planting churches where believers are nurtured in their faith so that whole communities are drawn into the Kingdom of God.
