NASHVILLE, Tenn. – B&H Publishing Group has signed Eric Mason, cofounder and lead pastor of Epiphany Fellowship (Philadelphia, PA) to cast a vision for men’s leadership and ministry in his forthcoming book Manhood Restored (May 1, 2013, 9781433679940, Trade paper, $14.99).
Mason’s new book is a compelling look at the global crisis of manhood, one he addresses from the perspective of how the gospel makes men whole. Focusing on critical areas that include worldview, sexuality, vision, family and the church, Mason calls men to follow Jesus and fulfill their purpose in this generation.
The recent success of the movie Courageous and the B&H title The Resolution for Men speak to the hunger for resources aimed at helping men regain their leadership roles in communities and families, passing that responsibility on to future generations.
Mark Driscoll, founding pastor of Mars Hill Church and founder of The Resurgence, as well as cofounder of Acts 29, says “I’m excited to see this book released as it blends Mason’s rare skill set as a first rate formally trained theologian who is literally on the front lines of urban ministry.”
Manhood Restored includes forewords by Matt Chandler, lead pastor at the Village Church, who calls the book, “Bold, fearless, scripture saturated,” and Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. “This fine work by one of my sons in the ministry does a masterful job of unearthing the biblical teaching of the Creator’s intent in creating men,” Evans writes.
“The more I grow as a disciple of Jesus, not to mention a husband, father, and pastor, the more deeply I am convinced of the systemic need in our culture for men to be explicitly and intentionally engaged by the Word of God and the gospel,” Mason says.
Mason actively addresses men each year in person and is active on Twitter as well as with the Acts 29 network and The Resurgence.
