CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dr. Alex McFarland, Author and Director for Christian Worldview and Apologetics at the Christian Worldview Center of North Greenville University in Greenville, S.C., will present a session at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Network Know Truth conference that discusses the case for Christ as well as common objections to Christianity and how to overcome them. The one-day conference, which will be held on April 13, 2013 at Christ Church in Nashville, Tennessee, will examine several areas of apologetics, including science and the origins of man, Islam, and atheism, among others.
According to McFarland (www.alexmcfarland.com), there is significant need to understand other worldviews, such as those held by Islamists, atheists, naturalists, or humanists, in order to better understand how to evangelize for Christ.
“Today’s society has moved from a place of believing in the God of the Bible and toward a relativistic worldview that even borders on hedonism in which individuals think of themselves as God, and their own pleasure as the ultimate goal,” said McFarland. “It is through Christian apologetics that we can begin to rebuild an appreciation for God of the Bible, the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, and what those of us who believe in Him must do in response to this sacrifice. My presentation at Know Truth will begin to address why Christianity is the most logical, defendable religion and worldview in which to place trust.”
Beyond being a vigorous defender of Christianity and apologetics as a means to promote it, McFarland believes in a need to reinstate Christianity and a Biblical worldview as the foundation on which American society rests. To assist in bringing Christianity back into American culture, McFarland is working on his Project 2026 (www.project2026.com), a 15-year initiative to restore Christianity and Christian values to American culture. The project hinges on six core beliefs, including: God, life, morality, prayer, worship, and American exclusivism. The goal is to return these values – and the principle of absolute truth as defined by God – to America in order to return her to prosperity. Project 2026 seeks to especially speak to teens and young adults with its efforts, as they will be the group representing Christianity to the culture in the next fifteen years, whether through contributions as homemakers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, or civil servants.
For those wanting to take part in Project 2026, the initiative’s website provides a blueprint for renewal, printed and audio resources, and a prayer forum for Christians to meet and pray together, for families, the Church, our country, and the world.
As an advocate for the Christian worldview, McFarland has spoken in hundreds of churches and university campuses throughout the U.S. and internationally. He is part evangelist, part apologist, part educator, and part broadcaster- but all that he does is about communicating the message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. McFarland directs the Christian worldview and apologetics Center of North Greenville University. For more information, you can find him online at alexmcfarland.com.
