Colorado Springs, CO – As a leading expert in publishing and business strategy, Lou Ann Sabatier has spent over 15 years as principal of Sabatier Consulting, supporting print and digital publishers with hands-on advice and strategic plans to enhance their profitability. This October she will put her skills to work for Christian magazine publishers at Magazine Training International (MTI) training events in Bangalore.

"I want to teach a way of thinking, framing, and processing versus more rigid concepts," says Sabatier. "I want to approach the business by understanding the big picture down."

Sabatier will teach in the management track in MTI’s Advanced Magazine Publishing Institute and will serve as one of three trainers in the Digital Magazine Publishing Seminar October 8-19, 2012.

"I’m delighted to be able to offer to our participants such a seasoned and competent publishing professional," said MTI President Sharon Mumper. "Lou Ann’s professional services are in demand by well-known international organizations and highly-rated training programs. We are thrilled that she will be able to come to India to encourage and teach Christian magazine professionals in both the Advanced Magazine Publishing Institute and the Digital Magazine Publishing Seminar."

Sabatier said that while digital publishing is a major venue in the publishing industry she wants publishers to be current, smart, and resourceful about all distribution platforms. As a trainer, Sabatier said she tries to be a filter to publishers because the right solution and tools for the content are constantly evolving.

"I have a call to inform about accessibility, affordability, and approaching everything with discipline," says Sabatier.

Sabatier speaks widely at conferences and workshops, including Magazine Publishers of America, New York University and Columbia University’s publishing program, the Canadian Circulation Management Association, Magazine Association of the Southeast, Florida Magazine Association, the Professional Parenting Publications Association of America, and the Society of National Association Publications. In addition, Folio frequently asks Sabatier to speak at its publishing seminars in New York and Chicago.

"It’s a fact that what we do can make a difference," says Sabatier about consulting. "It has a ripple effect. It’s helping others live and realize their dreams. If we can be a part of fueling, keeping it alive, helping it grow – it’s satisfying."

Since Sabatier founded Sabatier Consulting in 1996, she has worked with over 100 media clients, giving them the tools to increase profitability through strategic planning, audience development, financial management, fulfillment, production, advertising sales, and operations management.

Prior to founding the consulting firm, she worked as a literary agent, the Managing Director of an international economic magazine, and Associate Publisher of a national opinion magazine.

The Advanced Magazine Publishing Institute and Digital Magazine Publishing Seminar are two of three training events open to international Christian magazine publishers during the "India 2012" conference. The Communicating Through Comics Workshop will be held October 21-24. "India 2012" is the second training event in a series of three annual MTI-sponsored training programs in India.

MTI’s mission is to equip publishing professionals and develop leaders who can strengthen Christian magazine publishing in their regions and around the world. More information is available at www.magazinetraining.com and on Facebook at "Magazine Training International" and "MTI in India"
