(Nashville, Tenn.) – Abingdon Press is pleased to celebrate this season the 20th anniversary of the publication of James Moore’s best-seller Yes, Lord, I Have Sinned But I Have Several Excellent Excuses. A special anniversary edition includes a new introduction written by Moore, a discussion guide, and new packaging and design. Other new and redesigned titles are set to release in the coming year.
Yes, Lord, I Have Sinned But I Have Several Excellent Excuses discusses words, scapegoats, blaming other people, circumstances, past events, even “the devil made me do it!” we use to excuse bad choices we make with our own free will. Moore challenges readers to recognize such situations and to grow beyond them. He reminds us that our faith tells us God sees through our excuses. In his warm, embracing style, James Moore encourages us to seek forgiveness. After all, we are justified by the grace of a loving, caring, forgiving, God and not by our eloquent excuses.
“Yes, we have sinned and we all have a number of excellent excuses, alibis, self-justifications, procrastinations, and rationalizations,” says Moore. “But even more… we have a God who loves us and who constantly reaches out to us with mercy, forgiveness and amazing grace – and that’s what this book is all about."
Moore’s newest title, Daddy, Is That Story True, or Were You Just Preaching?, has just been released. Other redesigned backlist titles include:
- Attitude is Your Paintbrush, It Colors Every Situation
- When All Else Fails Read The Instructions
- God Was Here And I Was Out To Lunch
- Some Folks Feel The Rain Other Just Get Wet
- Noah Built His Ark In The Sunshine
- If God Is Your Co-Pilot Swap Seats
- I Hear Voice And That’s A Good Thing
