Gospel Music Channel Celebrates Holidays with More Than a Month of Christmas Programming

ATLANTA, Nov. 25 -- Channel and begins more than a month of world premiere Christmas specials, series and holiday programming on Friday, Nov. 28.

GMC will introduce its Christmas programming Thanksgiving weekend and it will flow into the week of Dec. 1 as GMC will feature Christmas Voices - Christmas music video blocks weekdays with prime time Christmas specials at night. More Christmas videos and specials are added as Christmas draws near and Gospel Music Channel goes to Christmas music 24/7 starting Saturday, Dec. 20 through Christmas Day. Highlights of GMC as America's Christmas Channel:

World Premiere Christmas Weekend Dec. 6-7 -- Two new world premiere specials: Contemporary Christian group Sixpence None The Richer performs Christmas favorites from their album, "The Dawn of Grace" (Dec. 6, 8:00 p.m.) and the fusion of R&B, hip-hop, urban, jazz, and funk comes alive when Ledisi performs Christmas favorites from her album, "It's Christmas" (Dec. 7, 8:00 p.m.)

MercyMe Christmas special -- MercyMe hits the Gospel Music Channel Christmas studio to kick off the season and share songs from their Holiday album, "The Christmas Sessions" as well as some of their non-Christmas songs. Featured carols include Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Christmas Time Is Here, Joseph's Lullaby, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, I Heard The Bell and God With Us.

Christmas @ Union Station specials -- Among those featured in these wonderful holiday shows -- recorded at Nashville, Tenn.'s historic Union Station Hotel -- are former American Idol finalists George Huff and Mandisa; Jars of Clay; Take 6 and Trin-i-tee 5:7; Natalie Grant and Daniel Kirkley.

Christmas Voices -- New and exclusive as well as classic Christmas videos in hosted blocks from such artists as Brian McKnight, MercyMe, Bebo Norman, Sara Groves, The Katinas, Julissa, Damita Haddon, Jimmy Wayne, Steven Curtis Chapman and Aly & AJ.
